Serving the Need

Results published in a recent article on USA Weekend.com found:

  • 28% of children ages 2 to 5 have tooth decay.
  • Poor children, 6-11 are three times more likely to have untreated tooth decay than children whose families are above the poverty line.
  • 31% of Mexican-American children ages 6-11 have decay in permanent teeth, compared with 19% among Caucasian children.


It is for these reasons that the patient care provided by CDHS is more important now than ever. In the economic climate of our times, CDHS is uncovering an ever increasing number of children who qualify for their services.
